The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina accepted the proposal of the State Prosecutor’s Office and extended the custody of Adnan Ćatić, who is suspected of organizing a terrorist group, that is, of having been on the foreign battlefields of Syria and Iraq, for the next month.
Ćatić’s detention was extended due to the risk of escape, then the fear that by remaining at liberty he would exert influence on accomplices or accomplices and commit a new criminal offense.
As the Court stated for Detektor, the custody of the suspect Ćatić can last until January 14, 2024 or until a new court decision.
In mid-November, Ćatić was handed over to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office by the police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency after he was arrested at the International Airport in Sarajevo, and on suspicion of having participated in the foreign battlefields of Syria and Iraq, where he was in the structures of ISIL, which has since declared a terrorist organization by the United Nations Security Council.
The Prosecutor’s Office suspects him of the criminal offense of “organizing a terrorist group, illegally forming and joining foreign paramilitary or parapolice organizations, in connection with the criminal offense of terrorism.”
