The Government of Republika Srpska (RS), one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), instructed the Ministry of Traffic and Connections and the company “Airports of RS” to request of the Presidency of BiH to declare a part of the property that is in the de facto ownership of the Airport Banja Luka as not predictable military property.

“After that, the authorities will undertake the necessary steps in accordance with the regulations in order to register those properties as being owned by Airports of RS,” it was said today from the Government of RS.

The Ministry of Traffic and Connections and Airports of RS were instructed to initiate the procedure regarding the registration of the property necessary for the airport in Banja Luka to conduct its work.

The entity government instructed all of those responsible in RS to deal with perspective and other military property solely in accordance with Article 72, point 2 of the Law on Defense of BiH and that the question of non-perspective military property be dealt with on the basis of the Law on the Criteria regarding the Distribution of this property and an agreement between the Council of Ministers and the governments of both entities.

The government of RS adopted these stances after considering the Information regarding the Forum in Tuzla “Analysis of the Functionality of Airports and Problems of Registering Perspective Locations of the Armed Forces of BiH”.
