goran salihovićA meeting was held in Belgrade between the main prosecutors of B&H and Serbia, Goran Salihović and Vladimir Vukčević, where they discussed the continuation of effective cooperation of the prosecutions in the prosecution of war crimes and preventing impunity for war crimes.

They discussed the priority steps to continue cooperation in specific cases in the future.

They defined as a priority cooperation in the prosecution of war crimes begun in Srebrenica in relation to offenders that are found in Serbia, and for B&H judicial employees to help their colleagues in Serbia in prosecuting war criminals in Štrpci, especially in the area of searching for the remains of victims that are citizens of Serbia.

Representative of the B&H Prosecution spoke to their colleagues about the process of exhumations at the site of Buća Potok and that it is continuing, and they promised to lend support to colleagues from Serbia tied to certain documents and evidence on war crimes on the territory of B&H.

They also spoke of the activities that are necessary to be undertaken in the future in joint efforts for processing war crimes.

The B&H Prosecution delegation presented representatives of the Prosecution for War Crimes of Serbia the consent of victims to prosecute two people for war crimes started in Srebrenica that are found in Serbia, which is a sign of confidence in both prosecutions.

They spoke of the necessary actions for people to be convicted in B&H for war crimes, and who are found in Serbia.

At the meeting, they agreed on the continuation of open and mutual cooperation on war crimes, in order to establish the rule of law and secure environment for all citizens in the reconciliation process in the region and getting closer to EU integration.

They agreed that the joint meetings would be held in continuity every two months, where they will speak on specific activities tied to joint cooperation in their mutual interest.
