A prosecutor of the Terrorism Section of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against Hamza Labidi, born in 1998 in Zavidovici, currently in custody.

The accused is charged that in mid 2014, he left the territory of BiH together with his family, travelled to Turkey, from where he illegally crossed the border with Syria, where he joined the paramilitary formations that operated within the structures of the so-called “ISIL”, which was declared a terrorist organisation by a UN Security Council decision.

The investigation showed that from 2016, the accused participated in several armed formations with which he participated in combats in the cities of Rakka and Haritan, that following the fall and collapse of this terrorist organisation in early 2019 he was captured by members of Kurdish forces, and in late 2019 he was extradited to BiH, where he was deprived of liberty and is currently in custody.

The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Unlawful Formation and Joining Foreign Paramilitary or Parapolice Formations under Article 162b of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
