piramida (1)In Visoko today, the foundation “Archeological Park: Bosnian Pyramids of the Sun” organized a manifestation for “Archeological Day of Tourism in BiH-Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids” with the intention to show the potential of archeological tourism for the economic development of BIH.

As part of the program, there were many guests who visited the archeological sites around Visoko, and at the city cinema in Visoko a lecture in English on the phenomenon of pyramids throughout the world and in BiH was held.

“Egypt, Mexico, Peru and China earn so much from archeological tourism that it has become a motor for the economic development of these countries. Our idea is to do this in BiH. Given the greyness of negative news, we want the world to recognize BiH as a country of tourism, cultural heritage, archeology, good news, and archeological tourism could play a key role. In addition to transit tourism in the near future in BiH and in Visoko, we wish to develop classical tourism, where people will stay in BiH for 10-15 days and visit all the worthy places in BiH. This is the first manifestation of its kind, and the idea is for such a manifestation to be held next year and to become a tradition, to send a positive image of BIH to the world. Today in Visoko, there are over 100 tourists from Bulgaria, 30 from Croatia, and there are visitors from Hungary, Slovenia, Netherlands and many other countries. With us is a documentary crew of the Italian state television RAI DUE, which is filming a report on archeological sites. I can finally say in the end that finally in one thing we lead in the world in front of all other countries, and that is archeology’’, said Semir Osmanagić.
