sorensenPrior to the post-floods Donors’ Conference on 16 July in Brussels, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sorensen met today with French Ambassador for Economic Issues Related to Reconstruction and Development, Pierre Duquesne.

After visiting Serbia as a part of the preparations for the Donors’ Conference scheduled for July 16th in Brussels, Mr. Duquesne is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina.  During his two-day visit he is holding various technical meetings with State and entity authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and with international organisations.

The European Commission will host the Donors’ Conference to continue its help with the recovery from the devastating floods in the Western Balkans and mobilise further support to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to deal with the consequences of this natural disaster.  The conference will be co-organised with France and Slovenia.  In addition to mobilising international financial support, the Donors’ Conference will also contribute to stepping up co-operation over floods and natural disasters in the region.
