A recycling yard will be constructed within the transformation of Smiljevici landfill in Sarajevo into the Regional Waste Management Center, and the process of recycling electrical and electronic waste (EE waste) will take place in it.

Spokesman of PUC Rad, Mirza Ramic, said that the last phase of construction was finished last year and that construction works are currently taking place.

He noted that the ability to recycle electrical and electronic waste in our country represents a huge step forward.

He added that the second phase of the construction of surface for construction waste will be continued in the upcoming period, and that waste, after being processed, will be used as raw material for the production of certain things.

Funds for this project, in the amount of two million BAM, were allocated by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of FBiH, Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of CS and PUC Rad.

Ramic also noted that they started activities on the treatment of sewage water last year, which will be applied to the sanitary landfill this year.
