Remains of Fifteen Persons found in the Mass Grave near Mostar

After several days of searching for the remains, the exhumation at the Medina site in Mostar was completed today. From the beginning of the exhumation until today, the remains of at least 15 people have been found in the mass grave, and several fragments of bone and mortal remains have been found, for which the number of people will be determined later.

The found remains of the victims were transferred to the premises of the city cemetery “Sutina” in Mostar, for autopsy, identification and forensic processing, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

In the previous month, investigators from the Special Department for War Crimes, on the order of the acting prosecutor, coordinated the work of authorized officials who participated in the exhumation process, which was attended by members of the team of forensic doctors, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons. (INO) BiH, International Commission for Missing Persons ICMP BiH, necessary workers and mechanization, as well as police officers.
