Britanska-zastavaA delegation of the British Embassy to BiH lay a wreath yesterday in Banja Luka at the memorial to British soldiers who were killed while serving the peace mission in BiH.

In a statement to journalists, the Deputy Minister of the Embassy of Great Britain to BiH Jo Lomas said that the British are very proud of these soldiers.

The Mayor of Banja Luka and the Commander of the Irish Guard attended the wreath-laying ceremony. She said that they greatly helped to serve peace in this area.

Jo Lomas said that British soldiers in Banja Luka will have sports meetings with employees of the city administration, which would solidify the connection between Banja Luka and the British peace forces.

The Mayor of Banja Luka Slobodan Gavranović said that the meeting with the delegation of the British Embassy was organized to remind of the 59 killed soldiers from the British part of the peacekeeping force.

He recalled that the memorial plaque to the fallen soldiers was erected on the square in front of the National and University Library in memory of soldiers and their contribution in establishing peace in our region.
