Resort near Dubrovnik was returned to Sarajevo after Three Decades

After a legal battle lasting more than 30 years, the children’s resort “Lozica” near Dubrovnik was returned to the Novo Sarajevo Red Cross, confirmed the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić.

The mayor had a meeting with the Novo Sarajevo Red Cross yesterday.

“The news is that a judgment has been passed ordering the City of Dubrovnik to issue a tabular document allowing the registration of the ownership of the municipal organization Red Cross Novo Sarajevo. It is necessary to clean up the premises and settle the costs of the legal proceedings,” Karić told BHRT.

It is the common interest of the canton, the city and the municipality to protect this valuable, multimillion-dollar property of about 4,000 square meters of land in a very attractive location and to dedicate its doors to recovery centers and resorts, it was said.

“It is a huge plot of land along the sea coast, a large baroque castle, a beach, a specially built underpass behind which there is a three-story hotel and two luxury villas”.

The resort was open throughout the year, mainly pensioners came in winter and spring, and in summer the area was used for school in nature and for the recovery of children after treatment.

“I am sure that we will benefit from extremely successful partnership and friendly relations with the City of Dubrovnik and the respected mayor Mato Franković,” said the mayor.

It is time for concrete strengthening of cooperation in the field of infrastructure, tourism, but also the preservation of our valuable heritage, she emphasized.
