Respirators that are thrown away in the US were procured by the Authorities in BiH at high Prices

The media from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) recently reported that a large number of Chinese ACM812A respirators, better known in BiH as “Malina Respirators”, were destroyed in the state of Florida, in the United States (U.S.). The reason for that is that they were not included in the American list of approved medical devices for Covid patients.

This news caused a lot of attention in BiH public since these are the same devices that were approved for use in BiH and distributed to hospitals.

Also, the events in BiH regarding these respirators have now interested the American media. So, the portal from Miami, Local 10 News, published an article about what was happening in BiH when it comes to these devices.

According to the media in a text published on Monday, the same type of Chinese-made respirators that were recently treated as waste in Florida, “is associated with the alleged wastefulness in the public case of corruption in Southeast Europe.”

“A report by Local 10 News portal on brand-new Chinese-made respirators that were thrown away in Miami-Dade County has appeared in the media in BiH, where a scandal involving government officials accused of money laundering and bribery involves the same brand and model,” as published on this portal.

A licensed U.S. customs intermediary based in the city of Doral in Miami-Dade recently ordered the dumping of the million-dollar ACM812A respirator manufactured by Beijing Aerospace ChangFeng.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not included these respirators on the list of approved emergency devices for the treatment of Covid patients. That is the reason why the American customs intermediary threw new, unused devices that are worth millions of dollars, on behalf of an unnamed client, according to the portal.

“In BiH, prosecutors claim that the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH (FBiH), the highest civil protection official, and owner of a company that received about 5.5 million dollars from the government, are involved in a scheme to import 100 ACM812A respirators at very inflated prices,” as noted by the Local 10 News.

As they add, the process in BiH is ongoing and those accused deny any illegality, Klix.ba writes.
