The Secretariat of Hague Tribunal launched an expert review on the internal work of this court, besides the investigation of the death of the former Commander of Main Staff of HVO Slobodan Praljak, which is conducted by the Dutch authorities, as announced by the Tribunal.

In the statement was noted that the review was started in accordance with standard procedures and it will be led by a judge from Gambia, Hassan B. Jallow. He is the former Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Mechanism for International Criminal Courts.

The review of the internal work of The Hague Tribunal will start next week, and the report will be submitted before the closing of the Tribunal, which will take place on December 31, 2017.

The goal of this procedure is to assess the existing procedures and to give recommendations that might help other courts in the future. The results will be publicly announced, as said in the statement.
