The Government of the Republika Srpska (RS) has adopted and sent to the United Nations (UN) Security Council its view of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) for the period from October 2021 to May 2022.
Although this document will not be officially considered, the report states that the Government of RS expresses its views on key issues and problems facing BiH, in order to clarify its views to members of the UN Security Council and the international community.
Namely, it was mentioned in this report that RS has proven to be a reliable partner to NATO members in the fight against terrorism, high-tech security, and other security issues and that it works closely with the security and intelligence services of major NATO members, among other things, as part of regular training.
The government stressed that the RS has never expressed opposition to EUFOR’s presence in BiH, the number of troops,or the Althea mission in accordance with the mandate approved by the UN Security Council.
Also, the RS government believes that the situation in Ukraine has nothing to do with security in BiH, and states that “Bosniak parties in BiH, led by the SDA, with their foreign aides, are trying to use the situation in Ukraine to implement their plan for BiH claiming that the recent steps of the RS towards the return of its constitutional competencies are under the influence of the President of Russia. “
According to the report, this is pure fantasy, and it is emphasized that the RS and its leadership do not serve Russia or any other foreign power, but only the citizens of Srpska.
In Part II, the RS pointed out that the peace that has reigned in BiH since the signing of the Dayton Agreement has not been endangered in any way.
“RS consistently and categorically rejects any resort to violence, insists on resolving disagreements in BiH exclusively through peaceful dialogue,” it was written.
The report says the most knowledgeable foreign officials and diplomats, including EUFOR officials, have made it clear that there is no danger of war in BiH.
