russia ministry of financeRussia will complete the payment of the external debt of the former Soviet Union before the end of this year, as reported by “Izvestija” calling on the Ministry of Finance of Russia.

The last tranche will be paid to BiH by the end of 2017, as reported by Sputnik.

Russia paid more than 415 million USD to China in 2015, of which the greater part was the Soviet foreign debt. “Vnjesekonombank” said that they fully paid off the Soviet debt to China at the request of the Ministry of Finance.

A government source said for the newspaper “Izvestija” that the payment of BiH could be finished before the summer.

The Ministry of Finance informed the public on payment of 60.6 million USD of Soviet debt to Macedonia last week, and they announced that the only outstanding debt from the Soviet time remained for BiH.
