inspekcijaInspection of the Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary control of the Russian Federation “Roseljhoznadzor” yesterday began its inspection control in Sarajevo and Herzegovina, and urgent report on the situation in situ will be published today.

After the decision by relevant services of Russia to ban the import of agricultural products of BiH because of doubts about the correctness of the origin of goods and the lack of existence of a unique national system of controlling the quality of products, the Russian inspectors arrived to BiH yesterday to carry out a control.

“Inspectors were checking the phytosanitary system of the country yesterday in the Administration for Herb Protection, after which they visited certain production plants in Sarajevo and Herzegovina. It is planned that inspectors visit certain facilities in Banja Luka tomorrow as well,” said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović yesterday.

Russian phytosanitary inspectors will publish a report on the situation in the field immediately upon return from the field.

It is expected that Russia abolishes the temporary ban of import from BiH after the examination of production plants and plantations.
