sandaWith the lighting of the flame at the full stadium in Koševo in 1984, skater Sanda Dubravčić signaled the start of the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo (ZOI), and during the games in this city, Sarajevo and B&H were the center of the world. In the capital city of B&H, Sanda Dubravčić will come again at the beginning of February to take part in the 30th anniversary of ZOI.

In an interview for Fena, Sanda Dubravčić-Šimunjak did not hide her enthusiasm with her impending trip to Sarajevo, where she says she was the first woman in history who lit the Olympic flame, and which was the crowning achievement of her athletic career.

‘’I am looking forward to come to Sarajevo again. I was here twice after the Olympics. The first time in 1985 at the World Junior Championship and the second time was 10 years ago on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of ZOI, where the International Skating Union (ISU) organized a show in the renovated Zetra Stadium.

Sanda Dubravčić-Šimunjak works as a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She has a Ph.D and works in the hospital Holy Spirit in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
