Sannino Invited Leaders of Seven Leading Political Parties from BiH

The General Director for Enlargement Stefano Sannino invited leaders from seven political parties in BiH and their associates for consultations in Brussels on 22 March.

According the EU Delegation in BiH, in a joint letter that was sent on 4 February by the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Policy Štefan Füle, it stated that their expectations for a political agreement on the implementation of the “Sejdić-Finci’ ruling should be reached until the end of March of this year.

This political agreement and the time frame for its implementation will be the central topic of the next meeting at a high level between the EU and BiH.

“In order to ensure a successful resolution of this issue, which is key for the process of European integration of BiH and there will be a meeting about this on 11 April, Sannino invited leaders of the seven leading BiH political parties and their associates at a consultation in Brussels on 22 March 2013’’, in a statement by the EU Delegation and the Office of the Special Representative of the EU to BiH.

Although some BiH media have announced that this meeting in Brussels would be held on Saturday, 23 March, the EU Delegation and the Office of the Special Representative of the EU to BiH announced that the meeting would be held on Friday, 22 March.
