The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is decorated with national flags ahead of March 1st, BiH’s Independence Day.
Flags have been placed along main streets, bridges, and squares, while many institutions, businesses, and citizens have also displayed national symbols on their facades.
As Independence Day approaches, the atmosphere in Sarajevo is filled with pride and a patriotic spirit. The streets are adorned in blue and yellow, and numerous celebrations and events have already been announced across the country.
Official celebrations in Sarajevo will include the laying of flowers, a ceremonial academy, and other events honoring the historic 1992 referendum when the citizens of BiH decided on the country’s independence.
BiH’s Independence Day is observed as a national holiday, commemorating one of the most significant dates in the country’s recent history.
