Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is again at the top of the world list of air pollution for sensitive groups, Fena reports. Data from the specialized website IQAir showed that the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina had a pollution index of 149 around 11 a.m. on Friday, making it the second most polluted city in the world. The first is Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, with an index of 152.
According to the pollution scale, the air is unhealthy for sensitive groups with an index of 101 to 150, and when the index exceeds 150 it is considered unhealthy.
On the BH website. of the non-governmental organization “Eco Action”, it was announced that at 11 a.m. the air quality index was 142 and that it was unhealthy for sensitive groups.
“Those suffering from diseases of the respiratory organs and heart, then the elderly, pregnant women and children should reduce prolonged or greater stress while outside. Everyone else should limit prolonged or greater stress while outside,” is the warning for this level of air pollution.
These days, people who live in settlements at a higher altitude can see something like a haze that hangs over the city, reminiscent of dust accumulations, which is caused by air pollution.
