Sarajevo International Airport today has set a new record when it comes to passenger traffic. 900.000th passenger in 2017 was accompanied, on a flight from Sarajevo to Doha.

A lucky traveler was Dina Ceric from Sarajevo, who received a return ticket from Qatar Airways for a destination of her own choice.

Ceric said she was surprised that she was the one who set up a new airport record, and she is happy for the reward, but is not sure for which place it will be used.
Sarajevo International Airport Director – Armin Kajmakovic said that the airport recorded a steady increase in traffic, which they expect to continue in the coming period.

He added that the airport almost reached its maximum capacity, which is why it requires the faster expansion and upgrade of the terminal.

The commercial director of Qatar Airways for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina Boris Zutic said they are honored and satisfied that 900,000th passenger of the International Airport of Sarajevo traveled with their company, which had her first flight to Sarajevo only one month ago.

In this calendar year, 900.000 passengers represent a record for the Sarajevo International Airport and a 12 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
