Today, the Red Cross of the Sarajevo Canton marked the World Day of the Red Cross and Red Crescent with the presentation of program activities and the laying of flowers at the “Memorial to the murdered children of besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995”.
Flowers were laid by the delegation of the Red Cross of Sarajevo Canton, as well as employees and young volunteers.
CS Red Cross Secretary Enaida Viso said that they also held an education today on first aid, basic steps of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and that volunteers on puppets simulated CPR and the use of AEDs.
World Red Cross Day is celebrated worldwide on May 8, and Red Cross Sunday from May 8 to 15 with the aim of showing the public their humanitarian work.
