Sarajevo Football Players won the second preliminary round of the Conference League

Sarajevo football players won the second preliminary round of the Conference League after almost three hours of fighting. The Bordeaux team eliminated the Aktobe team after a penalty, and previously the two-match ended with a total of 3:3. The result on penalties was 4:3 for Sarajevo.

The match opened with a great chance for Sarajevo in the first minute. Hamza Čataković shot from the top of the penalty area, but hit the post. In the continuation of the attack, Francis Kyeremeh shoots over the goal.

The great game of Sarajevo continued, but without results. Chances followed, and Kyeremeh had a real zizer in the 35th minute when he came out alone in front of the visitors’ goalkeeper. However, goalkeeper Shatsky intervened at the last minute in a “one on one” situation.

In the 37th minute, the referee refused to award a penalty to Sarajevo, even though Giorgi Guliashvili appeared to have received a serious blow. Then Koševo boiled over.

The penalty for the misses came in the 41st minute. Idris Umaev scored after an excellent dribble and move by Amadou Doumbouyae. With the result 1:0 for Aktobe, they went to rest.

Sarajevo added gas at the opening of the second half, and it paid off in the 57th minute when we saw the most beautiful detail of the match. Guliashvili scored a fantastic equalizer from a difficult position on the right.

Aktobe had to go for “all or nothing” in that situation, and the result arrived in the 76th minute. The recklessness of Sarajevo’s defense paid dearly, and Adilkan Tanžarikov put the ball into the net from close range. The ball landed on his leg alone in the box after a corner.

In the 84th minute, Kyeremeh had a chance to settle the game. He got rid of two guards from Aktobe by dribbling, but shot over the goal.

The regular part of the match ended with a score of 2:1 for Aktobe, and a total of 2:2 in two games, so extra time followed. And they were very interesting and effective.

Jayro gave Aktobe the lead with a great goal in the second minute of overtime, but Renan Oliveira scored in the next attack to tie things up in overtime.

Sarajevo played the second overtime with one less player because Đuričković received a second yellow card. However, it was not felt in the game as the Bordeaux team looked better in the field during the extra minutes.

There were no more goals in extra time, so the penalty shoot-out was started, and the Sarajevo team is doing better there to advance to the second preliminary round.

Sarajevo goalkeeper Emil Rockov turned into a real hero because he saved two penalties from Aktobe players. On the other hand, the players of Sarajevo scored four times from the penalty spot, and Elvir Duraković had the opportunity to confirm his place in the second preliminary round of the Conference League, who scored in the end.

Sarajevo will play Spartak from Trnava (Slovakia) in the second preliminary round already next week. The first duel will be played in Koševo on July 25, and the second leg seven days later in Slovakia, Klix.ba writes.
