sarajevo12From 17 to 20 September, Sarajevo will host the second world urban forum, whose focus will be the city of Istanbul, with its major urban projects.

On this occasion, a press conference was held in the City Council of the city of Sarajevo, where Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić said that he is honored that Sarajevo will once again in September of this year confirm its status as a world capital, which will bring together global names of urbanism and architecture, as well as political officials and representatives of huge companies from many cities in Europe and the world.

‘’It is our duty to raise and build the cities of tomorrow and due to this, it is necessary to speak about urban planning in order to create a pleasant environment and quality of life and business. In Sarajevo, we are still renovating the destroyed areas, and are not able to plan new ones to the extent to which we want. This is why I support such manifestations that could help in our efforts to build Sarajevo by international urban standards’’, said Mayor Komšić.

Sule Gulten, the second secretary of the Turkish Embassy, said that Istanbul supports this event. ‘’Our Embassy will sponsor a large number of activities. We hope that the links between Istanbul and Sarajevo will be even more visible and concrete after the realization of this project.
