Sarajevo Is Among Most Desirable Tourist Destinations of 2014

SarajevoThe capital city of B&H will be one of the most desirable tourist destinations in 2014. After National Geographic placed Sarajevo on the list of must-see destinations this year, the American portal Daily Beast did the same.

This year, Sarajevo will mark the 100 years since the assassination of the Austro-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia. This event was a prelude to the First World War, and Sarajevo will be the central point of celebrating the centennial of the start of the bloody conflict, writes Daily Beast.

This will be a year where the restored Vijećnica will open its doors, the symbol of the city, which was burned in 1993 along with two million books of the National and University Libraries in B&H.

Sarajevo is a city rich in culture and tradition, but it is not the only thing that makes it attractive. Hiking trails will lead you to the highest waterfall in the Balkans-Skakavac.  Sarajevo is surrounded by mountains that are visited by many tourists, and the city provides multiple opportunities for an active holiday.
