Sarajevo Municipal Court releases Abdulaziz Musa

Abdulaziz Musa, was released after pleading guilty to the assault on journalist Avdo Avdić before the Sarajevo Municipal Court.

The attacker was ordered to stay away from Avdić and his colleague Oliver Knežević, whom he also assaulted, and must report to the nearest police station three times a week. Recall that he was arrested after attacking Avdić on Tuesday, and it was later determined that he had also attacked his colleague.

Avdić rightly asks – who is next?

“The Municipal Court in Sarajevo has apparently decided to announce some kind of award for journalists. It is enough to just apologize or say that you will apologize after beating someone up, and then they will release you. So, today the court, I will not say set a precedent, there have been cases where they have detained people for the crime of violent behavior, but it has rarely been the case that due to this kind of public reaction and despite this kind of reaction, a person who is suspected has been released,” says Avdić.

“This is not a message to me, I know how to defend myself against Musa and I know how to behave in these situations, but there are many colleagues who will be exposed by some other Musa or some similar people who will intercept him on the street somewhere tomorrow, apologize afterwards and go home free,” said, among other things, Avdić.
