Sarajevo records New Cases of COVID-19

After the analysis of 565 samples, collected in the period from October 15 to 17 this year, 140 newly infected persons with coronavirus were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton.

A total of 76 people, or 54.2 percent, belong to the family clusters or contacts of previously ill people, and they are in self-isolation from before.

In the previous 24 hours, the recovery of 37 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is currently 825.

There are 63 people undergoing hospital treatment in the Isolator of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi, two of whom use mechanical respirator support when breathing, while four people have been released from hospitalization from this isolator during the past 24 hours.

The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection remained 94. To date, 5,728 infected persons have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, of whom 4,809 have recovered from COVID infection. In the period from October 4 to 18 this year, 1,497 self-isolations were ordered, BHRT writes.
