Sarajevo: Regional Conference on Breast Cancer

rak-dojkeOn Monday and Tuesday a regional conference on breast cancer within the WHEP project (Women’s Health Empowerment Program) will be held in Sarajevo.

More than 100 participants will attend the conference along with the medical experts, representatives of the Ministries of health from Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and USA. Presidents of the NGOs and women from the region who survived this disease will also attend the conference.

The main objective of this conference is to exchange information and experience as well as to discuss how to improve the diagnostics and treatment of those suffering from breast cancer and how to support them.

The focus of the conference will be on national strategies for prevention of malign diseases, early diagnosis, treatments available in the region as well as on the role of patients and strength of individuals when it comes to general improvement of health services.- reports Fena Agency.

The conference is held under the sponsorship of the Federal Ministry of health. The representatives of the USA Embassy to B&H and those of the USA humanitarian organizations JDC (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) with Susan G. Komen will also attend the conference.
