turisti-u-sarajevuEven if the tourist season has not yet begun, the streets of Sarajevo are full of tourists who mostly visit Baščaršija, Begova mosque, the war tunnel in Butmir, museums and front lines around the city, according to “Dnevni Avaz”.

“Guests are enchanted by the old city because in one place they can see al places of worship, to visit old shops, Sebilj… Besides the usual questions about the city, our visitors often pose unusual questions. For example, last week we had guests who wanted us to explain where Vrbanja bridge is located. At that bridge in 1993, his friend was killed who helped the people of Sarajevo during the most difficult times. One street in Sarajevo carries his name-Gabriele Morene Locatelii’’, said Asja Hadžiefendić-Mešić, the spokesperson for the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton.

According to her, tourists are interested whether the birth home of Gavrilo Princip is in Sarajevo, as some say, which is not actually true.

“Recently we had a group of tourists from Craotia who wanted to see the place where the sitcom “Lud, Zbunjen, Normalan” was filmed and to meet the main character in the series Izet Fazlinović, our actor Mustafa Nadarević. Sometimes they ask whether there is a statue of Valter Perić, and where the monument of the UN is located here’’, said Hadžiefendić-Mešić.
