Executive Board of BiH Film Festival (BHFF) which is being held in New York has released the list of films to mark the 10th anniversary of the festival, reports Fena.
Thirteen films were chosen, among them 3 documentaries, and they will be shown from 9 to 11 May in ‘Tribeca’ cinema in New York.
Films that are going to be shown are ‘The Blockhouse’ by Nebojša Šerić, which will have its premiere on this festival and talks about a soldier who leaves the frontline in order to contact his mother.
Three films ‘Kružni tok’ , ‘Nešto slatko’ and ‘Hvala za Sunderland’ will have their premiere in the USA on this festival.
Short film ‘Kružni tok’ deals with a character who fell in love with the female voice from GPS, while the film ‘Nešto Slatko’ portrays the life of a ten year old Ena who struggles through life and who has a constant need for something sweet.
Film ‘Hvala za Sunderland’ is a dark comedy about a worker whose life falls apart after he loses money.
Film ‘Halima’s path’ by Arsen Ostojić will also have a premiere in New York, and it talks about a mother who tries to find remains of her dead son. Film won 12 awards of the jury and audience on 6 festivals.
Other films that are going to be shown are: – “Mirza Delibašić – legenda” by Miro Benković, “Krivina” by Igoa Drljača, “Smrt čoveka na Balkanu” by Miroslav Momčilović, “Prtljag” by Danis Tanović, “The Fix” by Anto Novaković, “Djeca” by Aida Begić, “Orkestar” by Pjer Žalica, te “Zizi” by Nedžad Begović.
All the films shown will also compete for the award of the audience and jury, which consists of Croatian director Goran Rušinović, film creator Bill Carter, and successful writer Sara Terry.
BHFF has the reputation as a serious cultural event that serves as a platform for the promotion of young film talents and internationally acclaimed film artists.
Since its founding in 2003, BHFF was visited by several thousand people who had the chance to see more than 100 feature, short, documentary and animated films, said BHFF.
