Football players of FC Sarajevo continue preparing for the match of the 12th round of the Premier League of BiH, when they will host the eternal rival, FC Željezničar, at the stadium Asim Ferhatović Hase. Optimism rules in the Bordeaux team, and the aim is to win all three points.
Team from Koševo had a training session today at the Training Center in Butmir. On this occasion, football players Saša Novaković and Mersudin Ahmetović and the assistant coach Zijad Švrakić addressed the journalists.
“We had mini preparations in Čitluk, the team worked very well. I think we are well prepared and now we are in the derby week. We still have to perfect some things, but I believe we will be fully prepared for the match,” said Novaković.
Players of FC Sarajevo who arrived from other countries know how important the derby with the greatest rival is.
“I have seen that derby is a big game, something special for FC Sarajevo and the fans. I know what that means and we will give our vest to win three points and make our fans happy. If we win, that will be a huge step forward; we must show that we have the quality worth of the first place,” said Novaković.
Ahmetović said that victory in the derby is a matter of prestige.
“The five-day-long isolation was good for us. Now comes the derby, which should not be commented on in advance, but I hope that all players are aware of the importance of that match. That match is a matter of prestige between these two clubs and I hope we will win,” said Ahmetović.
Assistant coach of FC Sarajevo Zijad Švrakić said that the team is ready for the derby.
“We know very well what the derby is. This is a significant match for us, a match that has its advantages, faults and dangers. Quality and shape do not always win the derby matches; sometimes it is about fight and desire. I think we are well-prepared and we must go out on the field and give our best,” said Švrakić.
The match between Željezničar and Sarajevo will be played on Sunday.
