Scandal because of AI: Fake Biden voice called on People to Boycott the Primaries

Authorities in New Hampshire are investigating hoax phone calls in which a voice resembling US President Joe Biden urged voters not to vote in the state’s presidential primary on Tuesday. It is most likely artificial intelligence.

“It is important that you save your vote for both the presidential and congressional elections in December. We will need your help in electing the Democrats. If you vote this Tuesday, you will only be supporting the Republicans in their bid to re-elect Donald Trump,” said a voice on the recording, which also uses Biden’s favorite rhetorical turns.

According to CNN, it is not clear who is behind the calls with the recorded voice, but according to monitoring applications, it appears that a large number of calls with this content were made. Democratic officials in New Hampshire received the first reports of the calls Sunday night.

New Hampshire’s attorney general has launched an investigation into the case as an illegal attempt to disrupt the presidential primary and discourage voters from voting.

“Although the voice in this robocall sounds like the voice of President Biden, initial indications are that it is an artificially generated call. New Hampshire voters should completely ignore the content of this call,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement, as reported by NBC television.

Joe Biden’s campaign team is also considering legal action of its own. The team described the hoax phone calls as a disinformation campaign aimed at undermining free and fair elections.

The Republican and Democratic presidential primaries will be held on Tuesday in New Hampshire. Former President Donald Trump is the clear favorite in the Republican primaries.

Paradoxically, there is no favored Joe Biden among the candidates for the Democratic primaries in New Hampshire, which has caused discussions among local Democrats and the leadership of the Democratic Party about the date of the vote. However, Biden’s supporters are organizing a campaign to encourage voters to put his name on the ballot, Klix.ba writes.
