Earlier today, it was announced that the Real Madrid delegation will not appear at the Ballon d’Or award ceremony, because Vinicius Junior, normally the favorite to win this award, found out that he was not the winner.
How did he find out? Football insider Fabrizio Romano revealed this on social networks. He relayed a statement from José Luis Sanchez who claims that City contacted Real Madrid and revealed to them that their midfielder was winning the Ballon d’Or, according to N1.
This is an unprecedented practice in the history of the Golden Ball award, and because of everything, the Real Madrid delegation decided to boycott this year’s edition of the awarding of the prestigious individual award.
This year’s Ballon d’Or award ceremony begins at 8 p.m. in Paris.
