After students from Novi Sad were attacked in Sarajevo, the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, also commented, strongly condemning the act.

“These young people came to Sarajevo – a city known for its cosmopolitan and tolerant spirit – by invitation, in the name of dialogue and peaceful coexistence. Those responsible for this act, like anyone who breaks the law, must face the consequences and be punished,” the High Representative stressed.

As a reminder, high school students from Novi Sad, who are in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of a student exchange program, were attacked on Friday in Kulovića Street, in front of the Youth Theater.

They were attacked by a group of thugs and suffered minor injuries.

Three minors from Sarajevo, suspected of the attack, have been arrested.

The attack on the high school students from Novi Sad was previously condemned by representatives of the local and cantonal authorities, as well as the Second Gymnasium Sarajevo, which is hosting the student exchange program.
