High Representative Christian Schmidt announced that he had a substantive discussion with EUFOR Commander Major General Florin-Marian Barbu.
“A substantive discussion between High Representative Christian Schmidt and EUFOR Commander Major General Florin-Marian Barbu on current EUFOR activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular focus on security and stability,” the OHR announced.
High Representative Schmidt reiterated the key role of EUFOR and the OHR in preserving peace, implementing the Dayton Peace Agreement and ensuring institutional stability in BiH.
Due to the tense political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina following the moves by the RS authorities, EUFOR has reinforced its forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the meantime, the High Representative stressed the need for state institutions to fulfil their obligations.
