The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, met today with the leader of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, with whom he discussed current political issues.
With the meeting with Čović, Schmidt continued intensive discussions with politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Constructive conversation with HDZ BiH leader Dragan Čović about political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the necessary laws related to EU priorities, with an emphasis on the integrity of the electoral process, the rule of law, and enabling Bosnia and Herzegovina to start negotiations on membership in the European Union in the spring Union”, it was announced from the Office of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR).
Two days ago, Schmidt also had a meeting with representatives of the Troika – the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Our Party and People and Justice (NiP).
“Current political processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed, with a special focus on the integrity of elections, laws related to EU priorities, the rule of law, and key reforms in order for BiH to officially start negotiations on EU membership,” OHR announced, AA writes.
