The High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, addressed the public today ahead of tomorrow’s verdict against Milorad Dodik and Miloš Lukić.

“I am here to address you today in my capacity as Chair of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council. The Ambassadors of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council discussed the current political developments in relation to the trial of Milorad Dodik and Miloš Lukić. They called on all parties to refrain from interventions, pressures and political threats and to respect the independence of the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said.

Members welcomed the recent statement of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina and reiterated calls for all to refrain from interference, pressure and political threats and respect the independence of the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Members reaffirmed their unequivocal commitment to the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a single sovereign state comprising two entities, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, and Brcko District.

He also sent, as he says, a personal message to the citizens of BiH.

“I understand that you are concerned. Rest assured that the international community is vigilant and on guard. The Dayton order and state institutions must be respected. The international community remains firmly committed to peace and stability. There are no negotiations on Bosnia and Herzegovina. It will continue to move towards the European path,” he said.
