parliament-meetingElvir Karajbic, Head of the Club of the Social Democratic Party in the House of Representatives of the FBiH, together with Aner Zuljevic, Delegate of the SDP in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH, sent the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in government bodies of FBiH to the parliamentary procedure.

The basis of the proposed amendments to the Law is to allow the immediate suspension of payment of compensation for separate life and accommodation in the workplace to all the ministers, deputies, delegates, the President and Vice-Presidents of FBiH, as well as advisers that are appointed in this institution.

The suspension of these benefits would last until the average salary in the FBiH reaches the amount of 1,200 BAM. Also, amendments to the Law provides binding of the fee for the amount of the base for calculation of salaries in accordance with this Law, which at the moment amounts to 315 BAM in a way that these fees should not be higher than this amount, if and when they get paid.

“Social Democratic Party invites all delegates and representatives of the Parliament of FBiH to support these legislative changes, because it is about time to break the established practice of continuous build-up of a number of these benefits from  SDA and HDZ,” as said from the SDP.

With the adoption of the proposed amendments to the Law on Salaries in the government bodies of FBiH, savings would be made from a minimum of one million BAM annually.

To recall, at the last meeting, members of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH voted to increase fees for separate life from 600 BAM to 800 BAM, which faced great public condemnation.
