This year’s General Elections are over, and thanks to election technology, we have already received fairly accurate voting data. Judging by the results, the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina can be particularly pleased with the great election result, while the Democratic Front and Our Party, on the other hand, have reasons for concern.
President of the SBiH Semir Efendić is well aware of the success and points out that this party has at least 150,000 votes at all levels.
SBiH did not have a candidate for the Presidency of BiH in the last elections, but it did in 2018, when their candidate Amer Jerlagić received 9,655 votes (1.66 percent). Now Semir Efendić received 141,315 votes (25.63 percent) in the Presidency, and his party achieved excellent results in the cantons, the Federal Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
In the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, the SBiH could now have three mandates, while in the current mandate after the 2022 elections, this party did not have a single official elected at that level.
In the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, the SBiH received nine mandates, which is five mandates more than in 2022, when the SBiH received four mandates.
In Canton Sarajevo, the success of the SBiH is the most significant, given that they are the third strongest party in the Assembly. They had five mandates in 2022, and now they have seven, but considering the growth of SDA and SDP, SBiH could play a significant role in which current will form the government in the canton.
In the Zenica-Doboj canton, SBiH now has three mandates, while previously it had none. In USK, they increased from one to two mandates. In the Posavina Canton and Canton 10, the SBiH has one mandate each, and previously they had none.
DF’s decline in the elections
The biggest failure of the DF can be considered the loss of a member of the BiH Presidency this year, but also the fact that their president Željko Komšić failed to enter the state parliament from his constituency.
Komšić had 6,679 votes, and for the sake of comparison, Haris Zahiragić had the most votes in that constituency for the BiH House of Representatives with 29,171 votes. Thus, two DF politicians now go to the state parliament (47,726 votes), and in 2022 there were three mandates (101,715 votes).
In the federal parliament in 2022, the DF had 12 mandates (107,736), and this year the number even halved to six (45,093).
When it comes to cantons, in Sarajevo the DF had four mandates, and now it has only two. In the most populous Tuzla Canton, he had four, and now three mandates. In USK DF lost one mandate and now has two. In BPK Goražde, DF had two mandates, and now one.
Bad result of Our Party
The President of Our Party, Sabina Ćudić, admitted the bad election result this year, for which she took responsibility.
In the BiH House of Representatives, only Ćudić won a mandate, and the party received 30,316 votes for that level of government. This is a drop compared to 2022, considering that then they had 49,481 votes and two mandates.
In the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, our party now won 28,778 votes and four mandates, and in 2022 they had six mandates and 50,820 votes.
In the Canton of Sarajevo, Our Party had five mandates, and now it should only have three. In USK, they lost their only mandate, and in Tuzla Canton they should have an increase in their mandate, Klix.ba writes.
