13480359_1784200798483263_1838562288_nThe only BH town on the Adriatic coast started to receive its first guests, and according to Andrija Kresic, the Director of the Tourist Board of HNC, it will be a very good season for Neum.

Kresic stated that he expects, according to the announcements, the upcoming season to be good and that weather should not be a limiting factor.

“We can say that the season has already started. There are guests in Neum already, and from conversations with hoteliers, we can conclude that there are more guests than in the same period last year. Also, in hotels and private accommodation there is 13 or 14,000 beds,” said Kresic.

Considering that the Mayor of Neum rated the last season as one of the best so far, we can assume that Neum will have a very fruitful year.

When it comes to local authorities in Neum, Kresic said that the local municipality is making a new content or improving existing one every year, but due to the crowded urban area, these are not really major undertakings.

Also, certain problems are indicating that tourism in Neum is growing, but that, unfortunately, the only BH town on the Adriatic coast has no capacity to meet it.

“Today, Neum has problems with beaches because accommodation capacities are greater than the capacities of the beaches. Although we are working on this issue, I think Neum is ready for a major intervention when it comes to beaches and sports fields, which also hide the potential even after the season,” said Kresic.

This year, the municipality finally finished promenade that stretches from one to the other part of Neum, in the length of 5 kilometers. Also, the continuation of the road Stolac – Neum is announced for the second half of 2016.
