Second album of ”Duo Arkul” – ”L’amor”

Two artists from Mostar, a painter and a sculptor Vladimir Mićković and music producers and composer Atila Aksoy were accidently acquainted with the music of Spanish Jews- the Sephardim, and so the ”Duo Arkul” was founded.

Thanks to their music curiosity and dedicated research, they’ve created a second album- ”L’amor” which does not only represent a document of existence of an important and almost extinct music practice in BiH but also a very pleasant music material.

Sephardic music, or the music of Spanish Jews, is a blend of Spanish tradition that Jews brought with themselves after the Exodus from Spain in 15th century, and oriental influences in the territories where they lived. Sephardic music tradition has been kept in cities of BiH and in Istanbul.
