IMG_0013Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić received Sir General Richard Shirreff, the Operational Commander of the EU and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe.

At the meeting they discussed the current political-security situation in BiH and in the region. They said the security situation was very good, as opposed to the political situation.

The joint conclusion was that the process of negotiation has to speed up in order to resolve the issue of military property as soon as possible.

Shirreff spoke to Komšić on the exercise that is currently underway in BiH, in which the BIH Armed Forces are participating.

They agreed that one of the key problems that the Armed Forces face is monitoring surplus ammunition and arms, for which important resources are being used for this instead of in other areas.

Member of the BIH Presidency Željko Komšić spoke of the good cooperation between EUFOR with relevant BiH institutions, above all with the BiH Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces.

General Shirreff thanked Željko Komšić for the support during last year.
