[wzslider autoplay=”true”]Citizens of Sarajevo of all ages are enjoying the festival atmosphere these days, and many of them took the opportunity to take photos and make a selfie on the red carpet on the Festival Square in front of the National Theatre.
“Sarajevo Film Festival means a lot to me since I’m a child of this city and it is an honor to present Sarajevo in this light. Every year, festival is becoming brighter and more famous, and it has already become a traditional event and I am very happy that we have this kind of festival in our city,” said Selma.
Vedad is 10 years old and this is his first time on SFF, and he took the opportunity to take a photo in front of the red carpet.
“This is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in my whole life,” said Vedad.
“We are the center of Europe at the moment, and the foreigners are visiting us as well. We hosted a guy from Frankfurt, who came to Sarajevo only for the SFF,” said 31-year-old Asmir.
Seid (63) and Melika (59) are coming from Breza and they are regular visitors of the SFF.
“We are coming every year. The Sarajevo Film Festival is fabulous event, and taking photos on the red carpet is a part of it,” they said.
Nejra and Nina are 14 years old and they say that they come here every night and enjoy the walk through the city.
“This is definitely one of the best and the most visited events in Sarajevo. During the Sarajevo Film Festival the city looks great, and the atmosphere feels great as well,” said Nejra and Nina.
Nadir is 20 years old and he says that for him, Sarajevo Film Festival represents a symbol of positive energy in our city, opportunity for gathering people from all around the world, which is a big plus for our city when it comes to the economy and gatherings.
Safet from Sarajevo is 66 years old and he is here with his relative Mersid, who is living in Frankfurt for the last 32 years.
He says that the negative comments of people who are criticizing the festival affect him as well.
“I hear a lot of negative comments on how this money could be spent on something else, but I say – spare no expense on this, these are events that do not have a price, they bring a lot more for the authority of B&H in the world, and that is what we need since we lost quite a lot in the national sign and it is sad that it is like that, “said Safet adding that we cannot control the frustration of people, and the reason why they express their negative energy in this manner is that most of them do not see a future in this country.
“We cannot change these people, but we don’t have to be their accomplices and we should not support them at least. We, who are positive towards all these events in Sarajevo, should be some kind of spokesmen in a positive way,” said Safet.
Mersid remembered the times of the Olympics when all the people spent their time on gatherings and with the feeling of togetherness, and that it is sad that it is lost now.
“Sarajevo has always been like that, there were always stories. Those who love it, love it, those who does not love it, they does not love it and it was always like that,” said Mersid.
