Serbian Deputies from RS will not attend Parliamentary Emergency Session

Tomorrow, Serbian deputies from the Republika Srpska will not attend the emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, whose agenda includes the crisis in Ukraine.

The Serbian Club announced that it was decided in coordination with the SNSD and SDS / PDP / DNS parliamentary clubs in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.

“We are convinced that this session is scheduled to deepen divisions and provoke conflicts in BiH, drawing us into the debate on the conflicts in Ukraine,” the statement said.

In addition, the Serbian Club reminds, the BiH Parliamentary Assembly is not in charge of foreign policy, which is defined by the Constitution as the competence of the BiH Presidency, whose members from the Federation of BiH yesterday refused to discuss the same topic at the suggestion of the Serbian BiH Presidency.

“Deputies from the Republika Srpska are committed to preserving peace, preserving the Dayton Agreement and constitutional principles that define equal rights of three peoples and two entities,” the statement, signed by Serbian Club President Nenad Stevandic, concluded.

Yesterday, the Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Nebojsa Radmanovic, told Srna that the Parliament of BiH is not an institution that should deal with the crisis in Ukraine, but that the Presidency of BiH is responsible for those issues.

The Parliamentary Assembly of BiH announced that an emergency session of the House of Representatives will be held in Sarajevo tomorrow in connection with the crisis in Ukraine, requested by nine deputies from the Federation of BiH, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives Denis Zvizdic.
