Serbian Deputy PM Claims EU Has Imposed Sanctions Against Him

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin told RIA Novosti that the European Union decided to impose sanctions on him, banning him from entering the EU countries.

“There was no controversy over the truth I stated. They simply had some comments about me personally, held a meeting at the highest level of the foreign ministries of their countries and decided to ban me from entering the EU countries,” Vulin said.

According to him, this is how Brussels responded to his statements in the European Parliament.

At a meeting of the EU Council’s working group on the Eastern Partnership, the European Commission’s Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, or practically their Ministry of Foreign Affairs, proposed the introduction of sanctions due to “Russian destabilizing actions,” he added.

Vulin also stated that he really did not know what the result of all this was, that he had not been informed, but that he knew what was proposed.

He reminded that he was under US sanctions, and was already used to pressure, RT Balkan reports.
