Setting the Foundation Stone for the Construction of the Bridge Svilaj next week?

bridgeMinister of Communications and Transport of BiH, Ismir Jusko, and Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia, Oleg Butkovic, will officially set the foundation stone for the start of construction of the bridge on the Sava River near Svilaj on Wednesday, the 14th of September 2016 at 12 pm, in village Svilaj, the Municipality of Odzak.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic, will also attend the official ceremony.

This is a major infrastructure project on the Corridor 5C, which will connect the motorway from the BH and Croatian side on the Sava River.

Bridge over the Sava River near Svilaj is a connection of the Corridor 5C between BiH and Croatia, and sections of the highway in Croatia: Sredanci – the border with BiH and the section of the motorway in BiH: Odzak – the border with Croatia, interstate bridge Svilaj.

For each direction are provided three lanes of 3.50 meters, as well as concrete monolithic footpath with the width of 0.75 meters. The bridge is 640 meters long and 29 meters wide, with a concrete-steel construction, which weighs about 5,000 tons.

Contractors on the bridge are Business Association Viadukt Ltd. Zagreb and the company Hering Ltd. Siroki Brijeg.

The completion date of construction of the bridge is planned two years from the beginning of works.
