Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) carried out an operational operation “Filter” in the Zenica area today and arrested two people suspected of committing the crime of “Illicit Trafficking in Excise Products” from the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The persons deprived of liberty were taken to the SIPA premises for criminal processing and interrogation in the capacity of a suspect, SIPA stated in press release.
During the search, five cigarette machines, two compressors, two scales, one hand-held tobacco cutter, a large quantity of cut tobacco, 12,800 ready-to-sell cigarettes and 50,000 refill cigarette filters were discovered and temporarily confiscated.
The activities of SIPA police officers were carried out by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the supervision of the Acting Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in cooperation with officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and police officers of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
