Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today carried out the “Potential” operation in the areas of Mostar, Zenica, Banja Luka and Bijeljina, by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during which searches of residential, auxiliary buildings and movable property were carried out at six locations.

Six persons were deprived of their liberty and will be taken to SIPA premises during the day for criminal processing and questioning as suspects.

The “Potential” operation was carried out due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of “organized crime” was committed in connection with the criminal offense of “illicit trafficking” prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA announced.

“During the search, the following items were discovered and temporarily seized: seven kilograms of cut tobacco and 1,500 boxes of cigarettes that were not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 749 pieces of tablets for which there are no necessary approvals from the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 29 packages of various tablets for which there are also no necessary approvals from the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other items that can serve as evidence in criminal proceedings,” SIPA said.

The aforementioned activities were carried out in cooperation with officers of the Indirect Taxation Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the statement said.
