Sixteen new Cases of Coronavirus Infection were confirmed in Canton Sarajevo

In Sarajevo Canton, 16 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed, after 373 samples collected in the period from September 17 to 21 were analyzed, the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton stated in the press release on Tuesday.

Of this number, 10, or 62.50 percent, belong to family clusters or are contacts of previously ill, and are in self-isolation from before.

According to the Institute, 18 people have recovered, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is now 255.

In the Isolation of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, 29 people are hospitalized, all of them are vitally stable, while in the past 24 hours, four of them were released from hospital treatment.

Fortunately, there were no deaths, so the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection remained at 80. To date, 4,466 people have been confirmed infected in Sarajevo Canton, of which 4,131 have recovered from COVID infection.

In the period from September 8 to 22 this year, 599 self-isolation orders were ordered by inspection decisions, following the recommendations of epidemiologists or based on the decision of the Ministry of Health of Canton Sarajevo.
