SNSD will not support the Abolition of Excise Taxes on Fuel

The head of the SNSD MPs’ Club in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sanja Vulić, stated that the members of this club will not support the proposal to abolish or reduce excise taxes on fuel, emphasizing that it is a “disrespect for constitutional competences”.

“It is necessary to respect constitutional competences, this is a matter for the governments of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH. An attempt to form a government from the Council of Ministers and the BiH Assembly from the House of Representatives is unacceptable for us and we will not support it”, said Vulić.

She said that the SNSD MPs’ Club opposes the urgency of considering the proposed law and the proposed amendment in general due to, as she said, a lack of respect for constitutional competences.

“While we are sitting in this House, we will not support it”, said Vulić, emphasizing that in this case the FBiH is also being protected.

Saša Magazinović from the SDP BiH has sent a request to the House of Representatives to urgently consider the Proposal for a Law on Amendments to the Law on Excise Taxes in BiH.

Explaining the law, Magazinović said that the decision would be made for a maximum period of six months within one year and reminded that countries in the region have already reacted to control fuel prices in the current energy crisis.

Branislav Borenović assessed the law as justified for urgent amendments to the law in order to limit the rampant fuel prices in BiH.
