The Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca, stated in a statement on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina that “the European Union is unequivocally committed to the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a single, integral and sovereign country”.
“The European Union calls on all political actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina to refrain from and reject provocative rhetoric and divisive actions, including those that call into question the constitutional order, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the country,” said Soreca.
Following the decision of the European Council in March 2024 to open accession negotiations, Soreca said that the EU encourages all political actors to focus on the European path for the benefit of citizens, according to a statement provided to the media by the EU Delegation to BiH.
